Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff with meal preparation and ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly. This position could be ideally suited for individuals who are looking for part time work while pursuing a college education. Experience is not required as fully training will be given.

Duties

Assist in the preparation of meals, ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained. Help with the organisation and cleanliness of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly. Support chefs with food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables. Maintain inventory by checking stock levels and reporting any shortages to the kitchen supervisor. Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

Skills

Knowledge of food safety practices is essential to maintain hygiene standards. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when required. Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting. A willingness to learn and adapt to new cooking methods and kitchen procedures.
