Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the kitchen operations by assisting with meal preparation and ensuring that food safety standards are upheld. Responsibilities

Assist chefs with meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all utensils and equipment are properly cleaned and stored. Help with food preparation tasks, including portioning and plating dishes as directed by the head cook or chef. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are maintained at all times. Support the team during busy service periods by delivering food items to the appropriate stations. Participate in inventory management by assisting with stock rotation and reporting any shortages to the kitchen manager. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely service delivery.

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is advantageous but not essential. A basic understanding of food safety practices is preferred; training will be provided for the right candidate. A keen interest in culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills is essential. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a high-pressure environment. Strong communication skills and a positive attitude towards helping others within the kitchen setting.
