Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation and meal assembly are carried out efficiently and in accordance with food safety standards. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment.

Duties

Assist chefs and cooks in the preparation of meals, including chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients. Handling and cleaning plates and crockery Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all utensils and equipment are properly cleaned and stored. Follow food safety protocols to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are met throughout the kitchen. Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies as needed. Support the cooking team during busy service periods by preparing ingredients and assisting with plating dishes. Participate in catering events as required, helping to set up and serve food to guests.

Skills

Knowledge of food safety practices is essential to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment. Basic culinary skills, including meal preparation techniques, are beneficial for this role. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being able to take initiative when required. Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods. Previous experience in a restaurant or catering setting is an advantage but not mandatory; a willingness to learn is key.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 8.00-12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 20 per week
