Kitchen Assistant - What we are looking for...

We are looking for an able bodied & hardy individual with a good work ethic, enthusiasm as well as someone with a good personality to be a part of our small yet productive kitchen team. Here working as part of the kitchen is more than just a job, it's a close nit team, the team ethos: good banter but work hard!

This position includes the following jobs; keep the kitchen clean and tidy, wash pots during busy service as well as help our chefing team as and when needed e.g. food preparation. The priority at first will be pot washing.

It is important to stress that this is a tough roll and not for the faint of heart

, it will involve regular weekend work so if you cannot commit to weekend work then please do not apply!

You don't have to have prior experience but having some will be a bonus, a good amount of common sense, ability to listen and think fast on your feel as well as being happy to get stuck in will go a long way.

Flexible hours can be offered although the vast bulk of hours offered will be at the weekends, this position is shared with others and so there is some flexibility in the rota but not much, there will be no fixed minimum hours to start with but there is potential for fixed shifts if you prove to be reliable and hardworking, again mostly at the weekends with the odd shift mid week during the busy months. There is also scope for progression should the successful applicant show sufficient drive & enthusiasm but to start with you will have to earn your stripes at the bottom and work your way up.

Due to the nature of working in a kitchen environment as well as rules around working evenings we are requiring a minimum age of 17 years old for this position and you MUST be able to provide your own reliable transport, if you cannot drive yourself then family transport is a must. There is no bus to our location & taxis are expensive which isn't practical.

We have decided to do an open interview in order to speed through any serious applicants. We are asking anyone that is serious about potentially working for us to visit the pub between the hours of 10am to 8pm on (Wednesday 24th or Thursday 25th of September then 10am to 5pm on Friday 26th of September). Yes basically just turn up!!

Other times can be offered if you cannot attend between those times. You can have a brief chat with our head chef as to what is involved and we can take it from there, a possible trial shift may be offered afterwards.

Pay: 7.55-12.21 per hour
