Position: Kitchen Assistant

Location: Knebworth Golf Club

Job Type: 30 hours - working hours to suit the needs of the business and will include evening and weekend shifts.

Knebworth Golf Club is a vibrant and prestigious club dedicated to providing an exceptional experience for our members. We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis. The Kitchen Assistant will work closely with our kitchen team to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist with food preparation and cooking under the supervision of the kitchen team.

2. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and food preparation areas.

3. Follow all health and safety regulations and procedures, including those set by the Environmental Health Officer (EHO) in the UK.

4. Help with the organisation and storage of food supplies and equipment.

5. Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients as directed.

6. Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes.

7. Dispose of waste properly and maintain a clean and tidy kitchen environment.

8. Assist in receiving and storing deliveries of food and supplies.

9. Adhere to food safety standards and practices, including temperature controls and storage procedures.

10. Collaborate with other kitchen team to ensure efficient and effective operations.

Education & Experience



Minimum 2 / 3 years relevant experience Awareness of manual handling techniques Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety Experience of kitchen equipment Experience of dangerous equipment such as knives Competent level of English spoken and written Previous experience in a kitchen environment preferred but not essential Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including those set by the EHO in the UK Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and cleanliness Excellent communication and teamwork skills Willingness to learn and follow instructions Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Basic food hygiene certificate (desirable) Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods
