Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant / KP to join our small kitchen team in our busy cafe bar in Ancoats. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a desire to contribute to a vibrant kitchen environment. As a Kitchen Assistant / KP, you will play a key role in supporting our chefs and ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience.

Duties

Help with washing up Putting away deliveries and keeping storage areas clean and tidy Assist in food preparation under the guidance of the kitchen manager. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen. Help with the cleaning and organisation of kitchen equipment and utensils. Support the culinary team during busy service periods by preparing ingredients Participate in catering events by preparing food items and ensuring timely delivery of food Ensure that all kitchen areas are kept clean, tidy, and well-organised at all times. Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is desirable but not essential Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards is preferred. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation tasks. Willingness to learn new skills Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends if required.
