Kitchen Assistant

to join our small, supportive team. The London Inn has been under the same ownership for 6 years, and is growing every year.

The Role

As a Kitchen Assistant, you'll work alongside our Head Chef, Assistant Chef, and Kitchen Porters to keep our kitchen running smoothly. You'll help prepare delicious dishes, maintain our 5hygiene standards, and contribute to a positive, team-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist chefs with food preparation (salads, sauces, vegetables, desserts). Help during service by preparing and plating dishes. Maintain kitchen cleanliness -- daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning jobs. Operate kitchen equipment (knives, fryers, mixers, blenders). Wash and store dishes, pots, and utensils. Support the team with any other kitchen duties as required.

What We Offer

Pay:

From 12.50 per hour (higher with experience).

Hours:

35+ hours per week, permanent role.

Shift Times:

Varied between lunchtime and evening shifts, and all day shifts.

Working 5 days out of 7 -

one weekend day off a week, on a 3 week rolling rota. 10am start times for lunch and all day shifts / 5pm starts for evening shifts

Environment:

Friendly, close-knit team in a small but busy kitchen.

Training:

What We're Looking For

Reliable and hardworking, with a positive attitude. Able to work weekends and cover shifts with notice. Organised and able to work under pressure.

Own transport

or local residence (no public transport available; finish times up to 10:30pm).
