We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Duties

Assist chefs and cooks with food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients. Help maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment. Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to at all times. Support the culinary team during busy service periods by preparing ingredients and assembling dishes as directed. Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting any shortages to the kitchen manager. Participate in the cleaning of work areas and equipment after meal preparation and service. Follow instructions from chefs regarding meal preparation techniques and presentation.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is essential; enthusiasm for cooking is highly valued. Basic knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques is advantageous. Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation tasks. Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to various kitchen roles as needed. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends if required.
