We are seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff by assisting with meal preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are met. Responsibilities

Assist in meal preparation by chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, and assembling dishes as directed by the head chef or cook. Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly. Support the cooking staff during busy periods by helping with food preparation tasks and ensuring that all necessary ingredients are readily available. Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards to ensure a safe working environment. Assist in catering events as required, helping to set up and serve food while maintaining high standards of presentation. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely service delivery.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment, such as a restaurant or catering setting. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices is advantageous. Strong understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene practices. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and communicate clearly with colleagues. Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills while contributing positively to the kitchen team. A proactive attitude with the ability to multitask and work under pressure during busy service periods.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Zero hours contract

Pay: 12.55 per hour

Expected hours: 6 - 12 per week
