Work as part of the kitchen team as per the staff rota on daily food preparation, cleaning routines under the guidance of the Head Cook/Registered Manager/Nurse in Charge.
Storing and preparing food.
Washing and drying kitchen utensils, crockery, pots and pans.
Degreasing and cleaning range cooker, microwave, deep fat fryers, cooker hoods, ducting and other kitchen equipment's.
Bag and tie kitchen rubbish bins when full and at the end of each shift and put in trade refuse bins in yard taking care to close bin lids
Cleaning and washing kitchen cupboards, walls, worktops in line with the kitchen schedules.
Sweeping and washing kitchen/server/utility/larder floors
Use appropriate signage for example wet floor signs, to indicate cleaning in progress.
Complete and sign any delivery/cleaning/maintenance schedules as required.
Assist Cook to dish up and serve meals to residents, taking care to ensure that residents with special diets are served accordingly.
Prepare/reheat and/or cook and serve simple supper meals as directed by Head Cook.
Lay tables and trays prior to mealtimes. Clear tables, trays and wipe down after use.
Sweep and vacuum dining room after each meal
Only use groceries and other products from the homes' approved suppliers.
Ensure that you are familiar with all cleaning substances and safety measures to be observed in their safe usage.
