We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and presentation of meals, ensuring that all food safety and hygiene standards are met. This role is perfect for individuals who have a passion for cooking and wish to develop their skills in a fast-paced kitchen environment, whether in a restaurant or catering setting.

Responsibilities

Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and cooking ingredients as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all utensils and equipment are properly cleaned and stored. Support the culinary team during service by preparing garnishes, sauces, and other accompaniments as required. Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times to ensure a safe working environment. Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies when necessary. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during busy periods.

Skills

Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is advantageous but not essential. Basic knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. Willingness to learn new skills and techniques related to food preparation and cooking. A passion for culinary arts and an eagerness to contribute creatively to meal presentations.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.21-13.00 per hour
