At Larchwood Nursing Home in Norwich, we provide safe and comfortable residential care. All of our 42 rooms come with en suite facilities and our nurses and carers are trained to the highest standards to provide care for those with dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's or for those in need of care after a stroke.
Larchwood is seeking a motivated and reliable part-time Catering Assistant to join our team. Reporting to the Chef/Cook, you will assist in organising and controlling the efficient and economic production of quality food within the allowed budget, whilst maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Required Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:
Team player
Satisfactory Policy Check and check against the PoVA list
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
Good communication skills
Desired:
Previous experience relevant to the position
Experience of food preparation for the relevant Service User group
Responsibilities:
Assist the Cook in the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals
Participate in Staff and Service User meetings as required
Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence
Ensure statutory Health & Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas
Report immediately any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Service User, colleague, self, or another
Understand, and ensure the implementation of the Care Centres Health & Safety policy and Emergency and Fire procedures
Share your knowledge and understanding of Infection Control with your work colleagues to ensure the safety of all staff, visitors, and residents
Complete the homes Infection Control Training
Every staff member must complete the homes Safeguarding training
Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you
