Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a desire to contribute to a vibrant kitchen environment. Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of meals and ingredients, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. Perform food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and marinating under the guidance of senior kitchen staff. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times. Support chefs during service by preparing garnishes, plating dishes, and assisting with serving as needed. Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the head chef. Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred, particularly in catering or restaurant settings. Basic cooking skills with a willingness to learn more advanced techniques. Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is essential. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation and cleanliness. A positive attitude and willingness to take on various tasks as needed within the kitchen team. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends if required.
