Duties

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring. Support chefs and cooks in meal preparation and presentation. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards. Help with the storage of food items and inventory management. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Assist in catering events as required, ensuring timely service of meals. Collaborate with team members to ensure a harmonious working environment.

Skills

Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is advantageous but not essential. Basic culinary skills with a keen interest in food preparation and cooking techniques. Understanding of food safety practices and hygiene standards. Ability to work well under pressure and manage time effectively. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to various kitchen roles.
