Job Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Kitchen Assistant to join our team in our newly AIR CONDITIONED kitchen. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen operations and ensuring the smooth running of our culinary services. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience in the food industry.

Duties:
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and marinating meats. Washing up and cleaning down as and when required
- Help with cooking and baking tasks under the supervision of the chef or cook
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash
- Assist in setting up and cleaning dining areas before and after meal service
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of ingredients
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service, ensuring food textures are considered for all residents

Following induction and training you will be expected to lead the kitchen to cover the chef's days off and holiday periods.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
- Ability to maintain attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Alternate weekends, and holiday cover as needed
