Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that food preparation and service run smoothly. Responsibilities

Assist in meal preparation and food preparation tasks as directed by the Senior Cook or Cook. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and ensuring all equipment is properly stored. Support catering events by preparing ingredients and assisting with serving as needed. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure that all food is handled and stored correctly. Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting any shortages to the kitchen manager. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods. Participate in training sessions to improve culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.

Skills

Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant or catering setting. Basic cooking skills and knowledge of meal preparation techniques. Understanding of food safety standards and best practices. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment. Excellent teamwork abilities, with a positive attitude towards collaboration. Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills further, including any specific techniques or cuisines relevant to the establishment. Pay: 12.21-12.46 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 40 per week
