Town Thorns is a purpose-built home set in its own grounds with landscaped gardens and situated in rural area so transport is essential.

The home provides a high standard of care in a comfortable environment. We cater for the needs of people requiring nursing, residential care as well as for those living with Dementia. We promote resident and family involvement and feel privileged to be able offer a service to people in their time of need.

Responsibilities of a Kitchen Assistant:

Assist the team in providing the best tasting and nutritious meals to bring joy to the daily lives of the Residents. Assist the chef with basic food preparation such as peeling, chopping, and assembling meals Assist with meal service as required. Carry out kitchen cleaning as specified in the kitchen schedule and specifically requested by the Chef/Cook, Ensure that stores are kept clean and tidy. Wash up dirty crockery, cutlery, trays, and other kitchen equipment as required. Attend and complete all statutory training Adhere to Health & Safety, Fire, Moving & Handling and Food Hygiene Regulations Report all potential and actual kitchen hazards to the Chef/Home Manager and assist in managing risk.

Pay: 12.21-12.22 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
