We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff in food preparation and ensuring a clean and efficient kitchen environment. Duties

Assist with meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as directed by chefs or cooks. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly. Help with the setup and breakdown of catering events or restaurant service as needed. Ensure that all food safety standards are adhered to during food preparation and storage. Support cooks in cooking tasks as required, demonstrating a willingness to learn culinary techniques. Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to kitchen management.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment or catering service is advantageous but not essential. Basic knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards is preferred. A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills related to meal preparation and cooking techniques. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if required.
