Location: Waltham Forest College, 707 Forest Road, Walthamstow, London E17 4JB

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: London Living Wage - 13.85 per hour

Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Working Pattern:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday - 06:45 to 12:45

Tuesday and Thursday - 07:15 to 13:15

About the Role

Waltham Forest College is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our busy catering team. This is a hands-on role that plays a vital part in the day-to-day operations of our kitchen, supporting the delivery of high-quality food services to students and staff.

You'll be responsible for:

Receiving and checking deliveries Managing and maintaining kitchen stores Assisting with basic food preparation Performing general kitchen porter duties This role requires excellent communication and time management skills, along with a proactive and team-oriented attitude.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

Has experience in a kitchen or catering environment (desirable but not essential) Is organised, punctual, and able to work independently Can follow health and safety procedures Is committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
