Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring that all food safety standards are upheld. Duties

Assist in meal preparation and food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and assembling dishes. Support chefs and kitchen staff in cooking and serving meals during busy service periods. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workspace by washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations by following proper hygiene practices and maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen. Help with inventory management by restocking supplies and reporting any shortages to the head chef. Participate in catering events as required, assisting with setup, service, and cleanup.

Requirements

Previous kitchen experience or culinary experience is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is crucial. Familiarity with food safety standards and practices is highly desirable. Experience in meal preparation or food preparation within a catering or restaurant setting is an advantage. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards learning from others. Ability to follow instructions accurately and work efficiently under pressure.
