Perdiswell Rose Care Home are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring that meal and food preparation runs smoothly. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment, whether in catering, restaurants, or culinary settings.

Duties

Assist in meal preparation and food preparation tasks as directed by the head chef or sous chef. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen. Help with the organisation and cleanliness of the kitchen area, including washing up and cleaning utensils and equipment. Support cooks during busy service periods by preparing ingredients and assisting with cooking tasks. Follow recipes and instructions accurately to ensure consistency in food quality. Participate in inventory management by helping to receive deliveries and stock supplies appropriately. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely service.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential; a willingness to learn is key. Basic knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques is preferred. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude are essential for success in this role. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
