Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Kitchen Assistant / Cook to join our family run business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cooking and food preparation, with a commitment to delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Kitchen Assistant / Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our guests enjoy delicious and safe meals while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus. Assist in meal preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are fresh and of high quality. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure that all meals are prepared in a safe and hygienic manner. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during peak hours. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages to management. Assist with menu planning and development as needed.

Skills

Strong culinary skills with experience in food preparation and cooking techniques. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, contributing positively to the kitchen culture. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required by the restaurant's schedule. Passion for cooking.
