Standon is looking to recruit a hardworking kitchen assistant/cook to join our Kitchen team on a part time basis - 24 hour per week contract. The majority of your shifts would be afternoon from 12:30pm - 6:30pm. Occasional morning shifts from 8pm - 2pm. The successful candidate will be helping to prepare meals for people in a residential care home setting and in their own homes. Your skills should include
Hardworking - be able to work with energy and commitment and work to a deadline.
Able to work on your own or as part of a team.
Trustworthy and reliable - To be consistent in everything you do, including punctuality and low levels of absence.
Flexibility - Able to work your fair share mornings, afternoons, weekends, holidays and be able to pick up extra if needed.
Previous experience in a Kitchen is preferred but not essential.
Good communication skills both verbal and written
Conscientious - Able to provide meals for varying dietary requirements and needs.
Responsibilities
Assist in food preparation and cooking, ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained.
Prepare ingredients and meals according to recipes while adhering to portion control guidelines.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal service and timely delivery of dishes.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and cooking areas.
Communicate effectively with team members to support a smooth workflow and address any issues that arise.
