Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, supporting chefs and kitchen staff in food preparation and service. This position is essential for ensuring a smooth operation within our culinary environment, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities

Assist in food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces. Support chefs during service by ensuring all necessary ingredients and tools are readily available. Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen items promptly and efficiently. Dispose of waste correctly and maintain recycling practices within the kitchen. Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages. Follow health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods is advantageous. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. A passion for hospitality and delivering excellent service to guests. Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated when required. Good communication skills to interact effectively with kitchen staff and management. Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills further within the hospitality industry.
