We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that food preparation and kitchen operations run smoothly. Our Pub

Located in the village of Danbury in Essex, we are a popular family-friendly food-led Pub.
We take great pleasure in our customer service and we all enjoy building relationships with the locals and customers.

Duties

Assist in meal preparation by chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, and assembling dishes as directed by the head chef or cook. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations. Help with cleaning and organising the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitising surfaces, and disposing of waste properly. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely meal service. Participate in inventory management by assisting in stock rotation and reporting low supplies to the kitchen manager.

Skills

Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is advantageous but not essential. Knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques is highly desirable. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy kitchen setting. Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with team members. A willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks within the culinary field. A passion for cooking and an eagerness to develop culinary skills further.
