Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant/Porter to join our chef team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations, the focus will be around the dishwash area ensuring both front and back of house dishes are kept clean and tidy in a timely manner and also supporting the cleanliness of the kitchen in general.

Responsibilities

Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen. Help with the organisation of kitchen supplies and equipment, ensuring everything is clean and in its proper place. Cleaning the dishes and pots in a timely manner and up to standard Support the culinary team during busy service periods by preparing ingredients and assisting with plating dishes. Participate in catering events as required, contributing to meal preparation and service. Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces regularly to maintain a tidy work environment. Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.

Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is advantageous but not essential; we welcome candidates eager to learn. Familiarity with food safety standards and practices is preferred. A background in culinary arts or catering can be beneficial but is not mandatory. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. A passion for food preparation and cooking, with a willingness to develop culinary skills further.
