The Kitchen Helper plays a vital role in supporting the culinary team by ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This position involves assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring that all kitchen equipment is properly cared for. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about food service and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Assist chefs and cooks with food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, measuring ingredients, and assembling dishes. Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils promptly. Ensure all kitchen surfaces are kept clean and sanitised to meet health and safety standards. Help with inventory management by restocking supplies as needed and reporting any shortages to the kitchen supervisor. Support the team during service by delivering food items to the serving area and assisting with plating as required. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.

Skills

Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques is preferred but not essential; training will be provided. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy kitchen environment. Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other team members. A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills within the culinary field. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Previous experience in a kitchen or food service setting is advantageous but not mandatory. Pay: From 1,200.00 per month
