We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Kitchen Leader to oversee daily culinary operations within our establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences. This role involves managing kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality food production and presentation. The Kitchen Leader will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive team environment while upholding the organisation's commitment to excellence in hospitality.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff.
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality standards are met
Manage food safety protocols in compliance with health regulations and company policies
Organise daily kitchen operations, including inventory management and ordering supplies
Train and mentor team members to enhance their culinary skills and ensure adherence to procedures
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Monitor food costs and optimise utilisation of ingredients without compromising quality
Assist in menu planning and development based on customer preferences and seasonal availability
Lead by example in delivering excellent customer service and hospitality standards
Qualifications
Proven experience in food production, cooking, serving, and food preparation within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Prior management or supervising experience in a culinary environment
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
Extensive restaurant experience with a solid understanding of kitchen operations
Culinary experience that showcases creativity and technical proficiency in various cuisines
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Hospitality background with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences
Barista experience is considered an asset but not essential
Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: 14.00-17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 - 45 per week
