Thai Express seeks a talented, hungry and passionate Head Chef who will run our
kitchen working with our team of wok chefs and kitchen staff.
You will have solid experience in working in minimum 30-100 cover sites with a focus
on quick service fast casual dining.
Our Sites
We have several types of stores across the UK.
Thai Express Kitchen is an open kitchen concept with full dining service, hosting 100+
covers.
Thai Express sites may be small restaurant settings with covers of 30-60, or located
within food courts that have communal seating.
About you
You are capable and can demonstrate the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced
environment
Ability to follow and execute our regular menu while adding new options
developed alongside head office
You are all about the guest experience and passionate about delivering high
standard, day in and day out
Experienced to manage and hire a strong kitchen team, coach and motivate
them
Enjoy Thai and/or Asian Cuisine
Be very organised, run a clean kitchen and always planning ahead
Be responsible for GPs and Stock management
You will be a great communicator, that always speaks your mind but listens and
learns
Above all, you need hard working, honest and run the kitchen like it's your own
business (go that extra mile!)
Roles Specific
Shifts mays start as early as 7am and finish midnight. Your average shift will be 9
hours.
You make sure you follow food safety and health + safety standards throughout
your shift
Managing customer feedback and adapting to different situations will be key to
succeed
We offer heavily discounted staff meals and on-going training
We pay for your breaks
Duties:
Controlling and directing the food preparation process and any other relative
activities.
Constructing menus with new or existing culinary
Creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings.
Approving and "polishing" dishes before they reach the customer.
Maintaining food hygiene standards throughout staff and kitchen
Keeping records of food
Upkeep and maintenance of all kitchen equipment
Good understanding of Delivery platforms and integrating/managing with instore
orders
Up to standard closing and opening of the kitchen
Organisation of all prep required with kitchen staff
Training the team on menu, and ingredients
Helping coming up with new menu items, test and train staff
Experience Required:
Level 3 food hygiene course, or equivalent
Knowledge of food production methods
Leadership skills
To be thorough and pay attention to detail
The ability to monitor your own performance and that of your colleagues
The ability to accept criticism and work well under pressure
The ability to organise your time and workload
Some form of culinary training
Love and appreciation for Thai Cuisine
