Up to 37,440 per annum (based on experience)

Working Pattern:

5 days a week between Monday and Sunday, typically 9-hour days. The monthly rota includes a fair share of weekends, usually one full weekend off per month.

Job Purpose



As Kitchen Manager, you'll play a key role in leading our back-of-house operations, from coordinating kitchen sections and overseeing food preparation, to maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness, and efficiency. Reporting to the Head of Catering, you'll be responsible for motivating the kitchen team, managing stock and suppliers, and ensuring every dish reflects our commitment to great food and service.

Key Responsibilities



Deliver Exceptional Food & Customer Experience



Lead the kitchen in producing high-quality, beautifully presented dishes and baked goods. Work with the Management team to deliver seasonal menus, maintaining product standards, dish specifications and service times. Ensure every plate served reflects Fron Goch's high standards and commitment to outstanding customer service. Communicate proactively with front-of-house teams regarding shortages or changes to menu items. Deliver team training sessions set out by the Head of Catering to ensure dish specifications are consistently executed.

Lead and Inspire Your Team



Train, develop, and motivate a dedicated kitchen team, fostering a positive and supportive working environment. Hold monthly kitchen meetings. Line management of all employees within the kitchen team. Effectively delegate responsibilities and oversee the performance of kitchen staff. Lead by example as a mentor and trainer, ensuring high morale and a collaborative work environment. Encourage creativity and innovation while ensuring smooth, efficient day-to-day kitchen operations. Flexibility to cover shifts as business needs, contributing to emergency staffing cover when needed.

Financial & Operational Excellence



Oversee kitchen stock control, purchasing, portion management, and waste reduction to maximise profitability. Maintain and raise profit margins on menu dishes by managing waste and following detailed dish specifications, set out by the company. Responsible for stock quality control and the upkeep of appropriate stock levels. Complete all financial documentation accurately, including purchase orders, stock counts, and waste tracking. Report weekly to the Head of Catering on operational challenges. Oversee staff deployment for optimum operational efficiency.

Compliance & Standards



Ensure all food safety, allergen, hygiene, and health & safety regulations are rigorously followed. Take responsibility for kitchen weekly and monthly audits, staff training records, and maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming workspace. Ensure a high standard of cleanliness throughout the kitchen, including fridges, freezers, dry goods and refuse areas. Champion and uphold the company's protocols as laid out in the Company Handbook. Support and champion Fron Goch's sustainability values -- from waste reduction to energy conservation.

Collaboration & Contribution



Promote strong communication between front-of-house and kitchen teams to create a seamless customer experience. Collaborate closely with the Head of Catering and other managers to improve performance and customer satisfaction. Provide support to the wider company team as and when required.

What we're looking for in our team members



You have a passion for food, seasonality, and creativity in the kitchen. Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef or Sous Chef in a busy, quality-driven environment. Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop a team across all kitchen areas. Exceptional attention to detail and high standards of food hygiene and presentation. Computer literate and confident managing digital systems for ordering, stocktaking, and compliance. Flexible, hands-on, and committed to delivering a fantastic customer experience.
