Job Summary:
We are looking for an organised, hands-on Kitchen Manager to oversee food operations at our busy padel tennis centre. The role involves managing a small kitchen serving grab-and-go items, light meals, and hot food options, while maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and service. The Kitchen Manager will also support the bar team when needed, ensuring smooth service across all hospitality areas and an excellent experience for members and guests.
Kitchen Operations and Food Preparation
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient preparation and service of grab-and-go and hot food options.
Prepare, cook, and present menu items to a consistent standard.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation in all kitchen areas, following hygiene and food safety protocols.
Manage stock levels, deliveries, and food rotation to minimise waste.
Ensure compliance with food safety, allergen, and HACCP regulations.
Team Leadership and Training
Supervise and train kitchen and support staff as needed.
Lead by example, maintaining a positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic.
Work closely with front-of-house and bar staff to ensure coordinated service during busy periods.
Menu and Service Development
Contribute ideas for seasonal menus, healthy options, and specials suited to the club's active clientele.
Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control to maintain consistent standards.
Assist in implementing promotions, events, and catering for club tournaments or private functions.
Bar & Hospitality Support
Assist bar staff during busy times, including serving drinks (training provided if required).
Ensure smooth communication between kitchen and bar to maintain efficient service flow.
Uphold high customer service standards across all hospitality areas.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Maintain up-to-date food hygiene certifications and ensure all safety checks are completed and recorded.
Monitor equipment maintenance and report any issues promptly.
Adhere to all relevant licensing, health, and safety regulations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Applicants must be aged 18 or over, due to bar service responsibilities.
Previous experience as a Kitchen Manager, Chef, or Cook Supervisor in a cafe, bar, or sports venue.
Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards (Level 2 or 3 Food Hygiene Certificate preferred).
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Positive, team-oriented attitude with a passion for delivering great customer experiences.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, early mornings and during events as required.
