We're gearing up to open Mavericks Bar & Restaurant, a brand-new, fully refurbished 100+seat venue at Drumahoe. Designed to the highest standard with a modern bar, stylish dining areas, and a brand-new kitchen, Mavericks will focus on quality food, local produce, and hearty modern dishes served with a bit of flair.

We're looking for an experienced Head Chef / Kitchen Manager to take the helm, lead the kitchen team, and help shape the food identity of this exciting new opening.

The Role

:

As Head Chef / Kitchen Manager, you'll oversee all aspects of kitchen operations - from menu planning and stock control to leading service and maintaining top-tier food quality and hygiene standards. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to put their own stamp on a kitchen and grow with a venue that's serious about food and consistency.

Responsibilities:

Manage daily kitchen operations and lead a small team Create and maintain high-quality, consistent dishes for bar, restaurant, and carvery service Oversee ordering, stock rotation, and supplier relationships Ensure food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards are met at all times Work with management to develop menus, specials, and seasonal offerings Train, motivate, and support junior kitchen staff Manage costs, portion control, and reduce waste Uphold Mavericks' commitment to quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction

About You

:

Previous experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager in a busy restaurant or gastro pub Strong leadership and organisational skills Passionate about fresh, quality food and presentation Reliable, proactive, and able to thrive under pressure Ready to take ownership of a kitchen and build something great
