Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager to lead our busy pub kitchen. The Kitchen Manager will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene, and service, while managing a team and controlling costs. This is a hands-on role that requires strong organisational, leadership, and culinary skills.

Key Responsibilities

Recruit, train, and motivate kitchen staff. Manage rotas and ensure adequate staffing levels. Lead by example with a professional approach. Oversee preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes. Ensure menu items are delivered consistently to specification and standard. Support menu development with seasonal and cost-effective ideas. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in line with HACCP and EHO requirements. Ensure all food is stored, prepared, and served safely. Carry out regular audits and record-keeping. Control food costs, wastage, and stock levels. Place orders with suppliers and manage deliveries. Monitor and achieve gross profit targets. Work closely with the General Manager and front-of-house team. Ensure smooth coordination between kitchen and service. Contribute to management meetings with updates on kitchen performance.
Skills and Experience Required

Previous experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, or Senior Sous Chef, ideally in a pub or casual dining setting. Strong leadership and team management skills. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. Financial awareness and experience managing kitchen budgets. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
