Job Description

Kitchen Manager - The Lions' Den City

We're bringing The Lions' Den to the heart of the city -- complete with our signature cafe, sauna spaces, and the relaxed, welcoming energy we're known for.

We're looking for a

Kitchen Manager

to help shape our menu and lead the kitchen team at our brand-new venue, opening at the end of November. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves fresh, nourishing food and wants to build a kitchen team that shares that passion.

You'll be working closely with the Operations Manager and Venue Manager to develop menus, train staff, and ensure smooth, consistent service -- all while keeping things calm, creative, and well-organised.

What You'll Do

Lead day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. Collaborate on menu development -- creating elevated cafe dishes that are

healthy, seasonal, and satisfying

. Develop and maintain recipe specs, GP targets, and prep systems. Recruit, train, and support kitchen staff to deliver consistent, efficient service. Manage stock ordering, rotation, and supplier relationships. Work closely with the Front of House team to ensure smooth service and clear communication. Maintain a clean, safe, and positive kitchen environment. Support flexible service hours -- we'll be open from

7am-11pm daily

, with availability needed across evenings and weekends.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience in a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, or Senior Chef role. A genuine passion for nutritious, balanced food -- you know how to make simple ingredients shine. Strong organisational and leadership skills with a calm, positive approach. A team player who values collaboration and clear communication. An understanding of GP management, allergens, and food safety compliance. Flexibility -- while we don't work to set shifts, we always try to share schedules at least two weeks in advance.

Why Join The Lions' Den

The Lions' Den is more than a cafe -- it's a community built around connection, calm, and good energy. You'll be part of an independent business that values creativity, wellbeing, and people.

We'll give you the freedom to bring your ideas to life, alongside genuine support from an experienced team. You'll also enjoy

8 free sauna sessions a month

to share with family or friends -- a little reminder to look after yourself, too.
