Overview



We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee our Kitchen operations, and ensure the highest standards of food quality and safety in our busy 39 bedded Nursing Home. To work as part of the kitchen team, to prepare all meals for the residents and staff. To ensure the kitchen is cleaned to a standard required by the Environmental Health Officer, working with the kitchen assistant and domestics. To order food and supplies as required. To report any shortages of equipment as soon as possible and to report any equipment that is not working correctly to the appropriate contractors. To attend any training courses required for the job, as decided by the management, and to help in all other ways required by the Management of the home. To complete and keep Rota's up to date.
To work alongside other cooks working 3 days per week to include alternate weekends. Holiday cover also essential to cover other cook.

Responsibilities



To prepare all food prior to cooking. To cook and serve the meals. To help with clearing away dishes, pans and other utensils used in the kitchen. To help with general cleaning of the kitchen, to a high standard of cleanliness. If there are any requirements from any outside agency, to ensure they are carried out, to ensure the kitchen is a safe place. To order any food as is required and to be aware of stock as it is used. To manage the kitchen assistants and help with any learning needs they have. Keep safer food, better business file up to date Do weekly, daily and monthly audits Ensure there is enough stock, ordering and liaising with food suppliers to keep within budget To maintain digital records on the companies, Care Control software To maintain safe working in line with the IDDIS protocol Adhere to Health & safety

Qualifications



Proven experience in a supervisory role within a kitchen environment, demonstrating strong leadership capabilities. Extensive knowledge of food production processes, including cooking techniques and presentation standards. Some knowledge of IDDSI / food consistencies Previous experience in a supervisory role or willing to learn Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. A passion for culinary arts with a creative approach to menu development. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude within the team.
