Kitchen Manager

with

strong sushi experience

to lead the back-of-house at our new Islington N1 branch.

This role is perfect for someone who leads from the front, takes pride in quality, and knows how to run a high-performing kitchen

The Role

As

Kitchen Manager

, you'll be fully responsible for kitchen operations -- from sushi preparation and food quality to team leadership, stock control, and hygiene standards. You'll ensure every dish meets YouMeSushi's standards while keeping the kitchen running smoothly, even during peak service.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, train, and motivate the kitchen team Prepare and oversee high-quality sushi and Japanese dishes Ensure consistency, presentation, and speed of service Manage food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards Control stock, ordering, wastage, and kitchen costs Create efficient rotas and manage kitchen staffing Work closely with front-of-house to ensure smooth service Maintain a clean, organised, and professional kitchen
What We're Looking For

Proven sushi-making experience (essential)

Previous experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, or Senior Sushi Chef Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations Ability to work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment Strong organisation, time management, and attention to detail Flexible availability (including evenings & weekends)
