The Lodge on Loch Lomond Hotel, which is situated in the village of Luss, has positions available for full and part-time kitchen porters.
Your main duties include maintaining cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
- Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment
- Assist with food preparation and plating as needed
- Ensure all surfaces are sanitized and free from debris
- Empty trash and recycling bins regularly
- Stock and restock supplies in the kitchen, ensuring deliveries are put away promptly
- Follow all health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain a smooth workflow
Skills:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality setting is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of basic food handling and safety procedures
- Ability to work well as part of a team and take direction from supervisors
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects if necessary
You will occasionally be required to assist the chefs with food preparation, which leads to many kitchen porters being able to progress to becoming a commis chef which is the first rung on the chef ladder. Own transport preferable due to our location and limited public transport.
Please note that this position will require working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
