Overview

We're looking for a dependable Kitchen Porter to keep our cafe kitchen running smoothly and hygienically. You'll work closely with our Kitchen Assistant in a compact two-person team, supporting all aspects of kitchen cleanliness, organisation, and basic prep.

This is a crucial behind-the-scenes role that keeps the cafe moving -- ideal for someone who takes pride in doing things properly and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Wash dishes, trays, pots, and kitchen equipment Keep all kitchen areas clean and sanitised (floors, surfaces, bins, etc.) Help receive and store deliveries safely and correctly Restock ingredients and supplies during service Assist with basic food prep (e.g. portioning, sorting, simple chopping) Empty bins and handle recycling following food safety standards Work closely with the Kitchen Assistant to keep the kitchen flowing

Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential; we welcome those eager to learn. A background in hospitality or food preparation will be beneficial for this role. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining cleanliness and efficiency. A positive attitude and ability to work well within a team are crucial for success in this position. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required by the business.

Pay: 12.75-14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
