The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that all kitchen areas are clean, organised, and well-maintained. Duties
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and food preparation areas.
Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment promptly.
Assist chefs with food preparation tasks as required, including chopping vegetables and preparing ingredients.
Ensure that all waste is disposed of properly and recycling protocols are followed.
Support the kitchen team during busy service periods by helping with various tasks as needed.
Keep stock areas tidy and assist with inventory management.
Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
A passion for culinary arts and an interest in pursuing a career in hospitality.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
Flexibility regarding working hours, including evenings and weekends.
