Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter/Cleaner to join our dynamic team within a bustling hospitality environment. The candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff and chefs, ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently during event days. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast paced environment within the hospitality sector. This candidate will also double up as a cleaner for one or two shifts to assist our cleaner during the week to manage the venue and accommodation.

Duties

Assist with the preparation of ingredients for cooking and food service. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment. Support chefs and cooks by delivering supplies and assisting with basic food preparation tasks. Ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to within the kitchen environment. Help with the storage of food items, ensuring proper rotation and labelling. Participate in regular cleaning schedules to maintain hygiene standards throughout the kitchen. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during busy periods. Clean and maintain the venue, bathrooms and farmhouse accommodation to a high standard.

Experience

Previous experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen is advantageous but not essential; we welcome candidates eager to learn. A basic understanding of food preparation techniques is beneficial. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are required to maintain a clean working environment. A passion for hospitality and culinary arts is highly desirable. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting, as well as taking initiative when working individually.
