: We are a busy Indian restaurant in St Albans looking for a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Porter cum Delivery Driver to support our kitchen team and ensure smooth operations. This dual role involves maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen while handling timely deliveries of our delicious Indian cuisine to local customers. Key Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, including dishes, pots, pans, utensils, countertops, stoves, and sinks. Sweep, mop, and maintain the overall cleanliness of the kitchen area to meet health and safety standards. Assist chefs with basic food preparation, such as washing, peeling, chopping vegetables, and organizing ingredients for Indian dishes like biryanis and naans. Receive, unpack, and organize deliveries of supplies and ingredients, maintaining inventory in storage areas like fridges and freezers. Remove kitchen waste and ensure proper disposal. Handle food deliveries: Pick up orders from the kitchen, verify accuracy, and deliver them promptly to customers in the St Albans area using safe driving practices. Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, including handling payments (cash or card) and resolving any issues politely. Maintain the delivery vehicle (if company-provided) or ensure your own vehicle is clean and roadworthy. Follow all food safety, hygiene, and road regulations to ensure orders arrive hot, fresh, and intact.
Requirements:

Valid UK driving licence with a clean record (essential for deliveries). Previous experience as a kitchen porter, delivery driver, or in a restaurant setting is preferred but not required - training provided. Physical fitness to handle lifting heavy items (e.g., pots, boxes up to 20-30kg) and standing for long periods. Good time management and ability to work in a team. Flexibility with shifts, including evenings, weekends, and peak times (e.g., dinner rushes). Basic knowledge of food hygiene (certification a plus, but we can support this). Reliable, punctual, and customer-focused attitude.
