We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our culinary team. A crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment, ensuring that our chefs can focus on food preparation and delivering exceptional dining experiences. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality industry, particularly within a popular, small team restaurant setting.
Responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
Occasional assistance with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs, ensuring ingredients are ready for use.
Keep kitchen surfaces and floors clean and free from hazards to promote a safe working environment.
Support chefs and kitchen staff during busy service periods by helping with various tasks as needed.
Dispose of waste properly and ensure recycling practices are followed.
Skills
Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, or culinary environment is appreciated but not essential.
A good understanding of food hygiene practices and safety regulations within a kitchen environment.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
A willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks within the kitchen operations.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with other kitchen staff.
