The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in supporting the culinary team by ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. Duties
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and pans.
Assist chefs with food preparation tasks as needed, ensuring all ingredients are ready for cooking.
Keep kitchen equipment and utensils in good condition by cleaning and sanitising them regularly.
Help with the storage of food items, ensuring proper stock rotation and adherence to health and safety standards.
Support the culinary team during busy service periods by providing assistance where required.
Dispose of waste properly and ensure recycling protocols are followed.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality setting is desirable but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
Strong work ethic with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
A passion for food and culinary arts is an advantage.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
