We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. The Kitchen Porter plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and supporting the culinary staff. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced environment within the hospitality industry.
Responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, and pans
Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs, including chopping vegetables and preparing ingredients
Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use
Support chefs during service by providing timely assistance and ensuring a steady flow of clean utensils and equipment
Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff
Help with stock rotation and inventory management as required
Skills
Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is advantageous
Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
Strong organisational skills with an ability to multitask effectively in a busy setting
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
A passion for hospitality and a willingness to learn from experienced culinary professionals
Experience in hotels or culinary settings is considered an asset
