Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to deliver excellent service. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and eager to develop their skills within the hospitality industry. Previous experience in food preparation or restaurant settings is advantageous but not mandatory, as full training will be provided.

Duties

Washing and sanitising dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils to ensure hygiene standards are met Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision Supporting the cleaning of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment regularly throughout shifts Restocking supplies and ensuring all necessary items are available for kitchen staff Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations Maintaining a tidy and organised work area at all times Supporting the team during busy service periods by providing general assistance as required

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality environments is desirable but not essential Knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene standards is beneficial Experience working in restaurants, hotels, or catering establishments is a plus Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to fast-paced environments
