Boutique Hotel & Restaurant with 25 Bedrooms, Bar & Restaurant operated by a small team of staff. Located only minutes from the blue flag meadfoot beach. Open 11 Months of the Year.

An experienced Kitchen Porter is required for immediate start, although we may consider mature applicants who have less experience, but have transferable skills.

Join our small but busy Hotel & Restaurant in an Idyllic location only moments from meadfoot beach in Torquay, Devon. You'll be responsible for delivering excellent customer service and ensuring a high standard.

Our independent hotel has a great reputation for warm hospitality & excellent customer service, you are required to be polite, presentable & reliable, who can work well with other staff members with a good attitude. It is a great opportunity to join our fun, but professional team!

Responsibilities

Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen, including washing pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Ensure all crockery, cutlery, and glassware is cleaned and stored correctly ready for service Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as vegetable washing, peeling, and chopping under the direction of chefs. Remove kitchen waste and recycling regularly, keeping bins clean and disposing of rubbish in line with health, safety, and environmental regulations Deep clean kitchen floors, walls, surfaces, and equipment at the end of each shift or as scheduled Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely. Support the chef team by replenishing stocks, rotating deliveries, and putting away goods in correct storage areas Follow strict food safety, hygiene, and COSHH regulations at all times, including correct use of cleaning chemicals Report any faulty equipment, breakages, or maintenance issues. Work efficiently during busy service periods to keep the pot-wash area clear and support smooth kitchen operation Comply with all health and safety policies, including wearing correct PPE and manual handling procedures Assist front-of-house by sweeping/mopping dining areas or clearing tables when required, clean staff and guest toilets on ground floor.

Previous experience essential. Split shifts, part time. around 20-25 hours per week (8am -11:30am & 6pm to 10pm) which will include Tues & Wed AM & PM, Fri AM, Sat AM and extra days as required. Extra shifts are required from the 24th Dec to 2nd Jan TBC
