We are looking for a reliable and hardworking

Kitchen Porter

to join the back-of-house team at a busy hotel in Masham. This is a temporary role ideal for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and supporting a professional kitchen during a busy period.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will work as part of the kitchen team to maintain cleanliness, support food preparation where required, and ensure smooth service by handling washing, basic prep, and general kitchen duties. This role is suitable for candidates with previous kitchen porter experience or those looking to start a career in hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

Wash, dry, and put away dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen, walk-in, storerooms, and prep areas Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs Dispose of waste and recyclables correctly and maintain bins and waste areas Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures Ensure stock and deliveries are stored correctly and report any shortages Support the team during service to help maintain smooth operations

Experience & Skills

Previous experience as a kitchen porter or in a busy catering environment is desirable but not essential Reliable, punctual, and able to work under pressure Good team player with a positive attitude Willingness to perform physical tasks, including standing for long periods and lifting kitchenware Basic understanding of cleanliness and food safety practices; training can be provided if required Legal right to work in the UK
