The Sir Thomas Hotel

is a boutique family operated business, with newly refurbished guest rooms, an excellent restaurant, and a well-stocked bar. The hotel is located in a position that provides easy access to all of Liverpool's historic attractions.

The Sir Thomas Hotel is full of character internally and externally, and our staff are there to ensure that guests receive the highest level of comfort and service.

We are looking to recruit a Kitchen Porter, who has some established knowledge of the hospitality industry.

The successful candidate will help maintain high levels of service and assist with the smooth running of the kitchen by cleaning all kitchenware to the required standard and carrying out any cleaning duties.

The ultimate goal of all kitchen employees is to support the delivery of excellent customer service, in order to create a unique experience for the customer which makes them want to return. The Kitchen Porter should be a positive, loyal, and proud member of the team.

Responsibilities:

Assisting with the smooth running of the kitchen production areas. Washing dishes manually and also by using the dishwasher. Assisting in basic food preparation. Cleaning pots, pans, and any other kitchen utensils. Maintain the kitchen work areas in accordance with HACCP regulations. Storing away all crockery, cutlery, and glassware. Sweeping and mopping the kitchen floor. Emptying bins when they are full. Making sure that all kitchen equipment like food mixers, fridges, cookers are in good clean working order. Reporting any faulty equipment to the kitchen manager or chef and arranging for their repair. Keeping the storerooms well stocked and organised at all times. Complying with the daily cleaning rotas. Taking all dirty linen and cloths from the kitchen to the hotel laundry. Ensuring that at the end of the shift the kitchen is ready for the morning staff.

Work and Experience:

Experience of working in a professional kitchen, taking all Health and Safety considerations into account. Excellent verbal and communication skills. Possess good teamwork and engagement skills. Great attitude to work and personality that aligns with our values.
Pay: 10.00-12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 40 per week
