Duties
Assist in food preparation by washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables as directed by the kitchen staff.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment promptly.
Ensure that all kitchen areas are kept tidy and hygienic at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Support chefs and cooks in their daily tasks to ensure timely service during busy periods.
Help with stock rotation and storage of food items to maintain freshness and prevent waste.
Assist in receiving deliveries and storing supplies appropriately.
Participate in cleaning schedules for deep cleaning of kitchen areas as required.
Skills
A strong interest in culinary arts and a desire to learn more about food preparation techniques.
Previous experience in a hotel or restaurant setting is advantageous but not essential.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team within a busy kitchen environment.
