Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic culinary team. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations within our restaurant/hotel environment. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality industry and develop their culinary skills. Your contribution will ensure that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently, allowing our chefs to focus on food preparation and service.

Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, and pans. Assist in food preparation tasks as directed by the chefs, ensuring all ingredients are ready for cooking. Help with the storage and inventory of kitchen supplies, ensuring items are properly labelled and stored. Support the culinary team during busy service periods by providing assistance where needed. Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained according to health and safety standards. Adhere to all food hygiene regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment. Collaborate with team members to promote a positive working atmosphere within the kitchen.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality setting is desirable but not essential; enthusiasm for culinary arts is key. A willingness to learn and develop skills in food preparation and kitchen operations. Strong attention to detail with an ability to follow instructions accurately. Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
